I have the experience and the knowledge to help you manage all aspects of a funding process. Whether external funding has always been part of your strategy, or an offer comes out of the blue, securing new capital and working with new capital partners is hard. It’s not just about pricing. Finding the right capital partner for your business and ambitions, working through the funding process and creating a balanced relationship in the future are key to the success of your business. I can guide you through.
Finding the right capital partner for you
I have previously worked with a range of capital partners including bank lenders, private equity investors and listed companies.
I can help you to determine which type of capital partner would best suit your business, your strategy and the ambitions of your management team. This assessment includes an analysis of what your business can support, financially and operationally, as well as working through the challenging realities of shifts of control between existing management team/owners and new external capital partners.
As I have an excellent understanding of capital partners’ requirements, I can help you to prepare management information such as business plans, budgetary forecasts and operational assessments. You may find that such assistance is particularly relevant in commercially sensitive situations where existing team members are not yet aware of the proposed transaction.
Getting the deal done
Having worked on multiple financings, refinancings and business sales, I am vastly experienced in dealing with all aspects of completing these transactions. They can be complex and involve a range of professional advisors requiring significant management time to keep the process moving and to control costs. Using me as an additional resource to support the existing management will increase clarity, reduce completion timescales and manage expectations throughout.
Living with your new investor/lender
Once your funding is completed, you have a new relationship to manage. I have the tools and techniques to help you assimilate the requirements of your capital partner into your business. Building strong communication and trust will build a relationship strong enough to deal with whatever comes along. And something always will.
